ISOFIX CONNECT gb uses the ISOFIX Connect system for increasing safety and stability but also for its ease of use when installing a child car seat into a vehicle. However, Elian-fix can also be used in cars
without ISOFIX.
PROTECTION THAT GROWS Between the ages of 3 to 12 years, the car seat’s overall period of use, children grow by an average of 60 cm. Fitted with 12 simple settings, the gb Elian-fix can grow both in height and width – up to 8 cm in width and 20 cm in height. This means that children remain within the safety zone of the head and shoulder protectors at all times, and do not feel constricted even as they reach the top end of their age group.
LINEAR SIDE-IMPACT PROTECTION (L.S.P. SYSTEM PLUS)
One in four car accidents are side-impact collisions. This is why Elian-fix is designed with linear side-impact protection (L.S.P. System Plus) which in conjunction with the energy-absorbing shell, effectively reduces the forces arising in a side-impact collision. These forces are systematically broken down by the additional safety cushion and the shoulder and head protectors. At the same time, the body’s kinetic energy is deflected early on and the head is actively guided into a secure position. In a side impact collision, the car seat’s side protectors prevent an older child from coming into contact with the car window while also protecting the upper body. Providing children with maximum protection in a side-impact collision is a central element of our safety concept.
The interaction between the side protectors, the reclining headrest and the enhanced linear side-impact protection (L.S.P. System Plus) results in greater safety in a side-impact collision.
The patented, 3-position reclining headrest is an indispensable part of Elian-fix safety concept. The 3-position tilt allows the head’s center of gravity to be shifted backwards, preventing the head from falling forward when the child falls asleep. In a side-impact collision, the child’s sensitive head and neck area is therefore protected because it remains within the seat’s safety zone, comprised of the head and side-impact protectors.
IDEAL VENTILATION Another building block in the comfort package of Elian-fix is the system of mesh ventilation channels that run through the backrest and seat components. Air can circulate through ventilation holes on the front of the seat and under the seat cover, channeled away from the child through additional openings in the backrest. This helps to ensure a comfortable sitting temperature even on hot days. What’s more, the covers are easy to remove and are machine-washable. An extra summer cover is also available.
RECLINING BACKREST The reclining backrest adjusts perfectly to the car seat and enables easy installation in different vehicle models.
SIMPLE INSTALLATION Even though the sophisticated design of Elian-fix incorporates a multitude of passive and active safety functions, it was still important to create a lightweight design. Weighing in at just 7 kg, this seat is also suitable for frequent installations and vehicle changes.
